You don’t just visit history. You become part of it. A free experience: your portrait and your story, created and printed live.
For each visitor, Portrait Bureau creates a personal micro-exhibition: a fictional biography, a unique portrait, wall texts and labels, and a curated selection of artworks and archival documents from museum collections, imagining who they might have been in another time.
Each exhibition is built around a historical period, drawing on the public domain collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Rijksmuseum and Paris Musées, with the guidance of art historians.

Your portrait, and the first room of a museum of your own.
In three steps, no more: you arrive, a life unfolds, and you leave with it in hand, painted in the manner of the great masters.

The path opens with your face, and your story begins.

A biography unfolds: the years, the places, who you were.

Printed on site. You reach the door with it in hand.

One portrait or a whole series: museum-quality prints, produced live on site or shipped to your home.
Soon: every piece in your exhibition, from framed prints to sculpted bust portraits, delivered to your home and produced in our Montreuil studio.
